Summers were spent here, on a lot spanning over 400 acres. Wasn't just her; her dad spent summers here and her grandfather lived here every summer.
Unfortunately since there is a new owner they are not spending summers up here anymore but had approval to take senior photos on the land.
We met at Bordertown, Nevada and drove in one vehicle on the land. Seeing remnants and hearing stories as we drive up to where all the cabins used to be. Seeing the main cabin was taken down, may have been heartbreaking foe the family but we were able to see remits of the living cabins.
Ellie and I spent time walking in and out of the cabins taking photos of certain ones because they are special to the family.

There were certain items and cabins that had full stories to them.
The cabin that has all of the graffiti inside of it was the kids cabin.
There were about 20 cabins all through the area.

Not much was exactly how they had it when they would attend here but it doesn't have to be the exact same for the memories to be there. This actually allowed for more stories and details on how it used to be. The memories in this location are completely endless.
At one point, I just had to stop and relieve how many generations lived here over summers and now its desolate. No-one takes care of the place anymore, as it just lies there wearing away.
As we walked out of the area, Ellies dad said to her. "

I remember when you would shoot bbs as a child at this can, that sat on the wood pusher. I bet if I shook the can, we would hear bbs." Sure enough we heard them. So we took Ellies photo on the machine she used to aim at.
We made out way to the pond where they used to float logs and had a fully functioning water system that sent water to the land. The reflections on the lake were so pristine and casted amazing light for portraits.
We wrapped up shooting in a field we passed coming up that had a bear in it. We could not help but stop and snap photos leaping through the tall grass and amazing golden hour.
So thankful Ellies family allowed me to come capture her senior photos in a extremely special place to them. I love being able to create beauty wherever with whomever.
