Follow the sun and count your blessings

Follow the sun to where you seek it & be grateful of every where you see the sun.
Tonight I sat on a rock and watched the sun go down. Listening to my favorite song.
“Follow the sun” by Xavier Redd
He says multiple times “tomorrow is a new day, for everyone. New sun, new moon”
I love that because we’re all having a new sun and new moon but we all don’t have what others have. We all aren’t blessed to have what most of us take for granted.
So I sat on the rock, with no one around me.
Took in what was around me.
The soft breeze of warm, humid, Southeast Asia ocean air. The array of colors displayed throughout the sunset. The peaceful sound of waves crashing. The mountainous green islands surrounding me. The glistening, blue, endless ocean. The calming sound of chirping birds. The laughter echoing the beach. The trees, swinging & dancing through the air.
The fact of being able to be 8000 miles away traveling around this island makes me count my blessings.
I’m so blessed to be here. I’m so blessed with the ability to walk on two feet. I’m so blessed to be able to see the world with two eyes. I’m so blessed to be able to afford traveling. I’m so blessed to be able to carry a backpack with no issues. I’m so blessed to have 10 fingers. I’m so blessed to be able to hear with both ears. I’m so blessed to taste with my taste buds. I’m so blessed to smell the amazing smells traveling. Im so blessed to have a voice. I’m blessed to have my life.
Reflect on what you have, not what you don’t have.
Traveling really will open your eyes to see what you really take for granted.
It’s the little things.
Towels at a hotel— asking for however many we want.
Continental breakfast— we get a LOT of food.
Eating anywhere— you never have to second think if it’s unsafe.
Water at dinner— water is always purified and given to you.
Technology— we are able to have maps, phones, calls, messages. So much.
Transportation— we have it everywhere
Sidewalks/ roads— paved and put together.
Restrooms— we all can find one, whether we’re on the street or at home
Toilet paper— we can use and flush that EVERYWHERE. Plus we HAVE it
Jobs— ability to find work and stay with our family.
Medical help— we can have it immediately and know they will do their best to save our life.
Think about what you have in your daily life. Think about what you may complain about. Is your life REALLY as tough as you’re making it seem?
Have you seen what others have? Or maybe you have and others don’t?
If you haven’t and you’re thinking everyone has what you have. I highly encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and see what others don’t have, and see how blessed you are. I’m really glad I began traveling at a young age to realize how blessed I am and not be another millennial taking everything we have for granted.
This life I live is amazing and I wouldn’t change it. Ever.
I love experiencing and reflecting. Take time to be by yourself & breathe. You are lucky. Even if you don’t have much, you have more than someone on this earth. Be blessed. Be greatful.
